FAQ: Accommodation
Can I have a private room?
There are very few single/private rooms as Kilkenny College is a boarding school. Accommodation is allocated to maximise attendance whilst meeting individual needs as much as possible. Please state any physical/health requirement regarding accommodation during online booking and we will endeavour to meet your needs within the available resources.
What does the accommodation in Kilkenny College consist of?
The accommodation is making use of the boarding facilities at Kilkenny College. As such, it is functional, sparse and clean. Most rooms sleep 4–6 people and will suit family groups, with some larger dorms suitable for 8–15 people. Wash-rooms and toilet facility are mainly shared and gender-specific, with curtained shower cubicles.
Are bed linen and towels provided?
All beds will be supplied with bed linen, but you must bring your own towels. There is a limited supply of towels available for people travelling from overseas with limited luggage allowance.
Should I book my plane ticket now as the best prices are available?
No. We cannot urge you strongly enough NOT to book tickets in advance of confirmation of your booking, especially if you have additional needs. The automatic response acknowledging the receipt of your booking is NOT confirmation.
I have received an automatic response acknowledging receipt of my booking. Does this confirm my accommodation?
No. The automatic response acknowledging the receipt of your booking is NOT confirmation. You will receive a confirmation email within a short time.
Can I stay at the school the night before/after the school
Unfortunately we will not be able to assist with accommodation before or after the School.
