Driving & Parking

Kilkenny College operates a strict one way system for entrance to & exit from the campus. This is for safety, operational and traffic flow reasons. The one-way system is clearly signposted — cars should enter the campus via the Glendine Road entrance off Castlecomer Road and exit via the long avenue adjacent to the Newpark Hotel. We have been asked to adhere to this one way system for the duration of the school.

There is ample parking throughout the site, although it may not be directly adjacent to your accommodation. However, please park only in marked parking bays and not anywhere else on the campus — in particular not on the grass, yellow lines, yellow boxes, roundabouts or pathways. There are allocated parking bays for Blue Badge holders (disabled drivers).

Are there hotels, B&Bs or campsites near the school?

The New Park Hotel is next to the school and there are B&B rooms available in nearby areas. Tree Grove camping (at kilkennycamping.com) are the closest campsite, on the other side of Kilkenny City.
